Rambo Marine hosts Demo Day at Silverock Saturday, May 11th

Come out Saturday to demo the new line of boats from Rambo Marine

Rambo Marine is bringing the new line of MasterCraft, Cobalt and Crownline boats to Silverock Cove this weekend on Saturday, May 11th from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. If you are in the market for a new boat or simply want to kick the tires this will be a great time to come up and visit.

Rambo Marine will have the MasterCraft X-25, Cobalt 24 SD, and Crownline E4 available and ready to test drive. In addition, they will be hosting a “learn to ride” clinic with professional instruction for wakeboarding and wake surfing enthusiasts and kids.

This is a great excuse to get up to the lake this weekend if you haven’t been up in a while and check out the progress at Silverock and Point William. Our agents will be on hand to give tours of our properties at both developments.

Birmingham Boat Show is this weekend

Rambo Marine will be at the boat show this weekend...

Twenty dealers from across Alabama will be exhibiting the latest boat models this weekend at the BJCC in Birmingham. The event starts today, Thursday, January 24th at 4pm and runs through Sunday, January 27th.

The Boat Show is the largest event at the BJCC, and this year all three halls have been sold out. Special giveaways, attractions, and seminars are part of the event.

“Among the special attractions are a five thousand-gallon aquarium with forty species of bass fish; a demonstration of new trends in marine electronics; a display of two antique classic boats (the 1962 Chris Craft 20-foot Holiday mahogany runabout, and the 1966 Glastron 16-footBayflite 163 LT runabout); the debut of Mike Bolton’s guide book on Alabama fishing; presentations by Scott Byerly, a professional athlete known as the “Godfather of Wakeboarding” and innovator of many watersport tricks; the 12th annual Famous Kids Fishing Show; a seminar of “Boat Safety 101″ given by the US Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla; presentations by 2007 Bassmaster Classic Champion Boyd Duckett; and the awarding of the Birmingham Boat Show Grand Prize, a 2013 Yamaha Waverunner XV Sport and galvanized trailer.”

Tickets are $10 for adults. Children 12 and under are admitted free with a paying adult.

Bass Pro Shops Southern Open Coming to Smith Lake this weekend

The Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Southern Open comes to Smith Lake this weekend. Tournament fishing presents a number of challenges on Smith Lake, as the striped bass are plentiful and the spotted bass have set records for largest catch in the state. Should be great weather for fishing, mornings will be cool and should be sunny all weekend.

Weigh ins for Thursday and Friday will be held at the Smith Lake Dam at 2:45 P.M. Weigh in for Sunday will be at the Bass Pro Shops in Leeds.

Silverock Cove hosts INT Wakeboarding League this weekend!

The INT League is back again for 2012 at Silverock.

Silverock Cove is happy to announce that the INT League Alabama is coming back to Smith Lake this weekend, July 14-15.

The competition features some of the regions’ best wakeboarders during this round of competition. They will conclude the season in August at Lay Lake. INT features competition at all age groups.

If you came out to Silverock last year, you saw some outstanding wakeboarding. It’s a perfect excuse to break out the lawn chairs, bring the kids and socialize on the shore.

Get ready to see some big air at INT this weekend.
